We may be a long time removed from The Family (Stargell, Candelaria, Dave Parker and crew) bringing home the World Series in 1979, but that doesn't mean you can't proudly display your love for The Buccos on your office desk or your workbench. Back in March of 2021, the team and front office got together to donate 100 bags of coffee to first responders and healthcare workers.
"With the start of the regular season on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, Pirates players continued to support those affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Led by player representative and coffee connoisseur Jameson Taillon, the Bucs all chipped in to purchase more than 100 bags of coffee from Pittsburgh-based Commonplace Coffee and distributed them to healthcare workers and first responders."
Their Cups O'Joe might keep just a bit warmer in the late winter with an insulated Pirates coffee mug. Just maybe.
